Adopt-a-Puppet is a scheme which enables people of all ages to support Norwich Puppet Theatre and to become part of the family.

NEWS: NEWS:NEWS Happy Birthday NPT

Norwich Puppet Theatre is 30 this year. The official birthdate is 1st December so there are two events - a celebrity fundraising auction on 30th November and a Puppet cabaret on Saturday 4th December

NPT has new Trustees
At the AGM on 25 November, 4 new trustees were elected to the Norwich Puppet Theatre Board; Peter Beck, Sally Goldsmith, Zannie Fraser were invited to the Board from a very strong field of applications on the basis of the skills they could offer. There were several other people who the Board would have liked to have included but the maximum number of Board members has been reached so hopefully those people will be able to work with NPT in other ways. Welcome to them all!

Patrons and supporters

Michael Boyd, director of the Royal Shakespeare Company is a Patron and has sent this message:
"Puppetry is a major international art form In which Britain is under represented. There is a growing demand for puppetry skills from all forms of performance, which is currently being met in large part by artists outside the UK. Support for Norwich Puppet Theatre is an investment in the future of British Theatre."

Michael Boyd, director RSC

Welcome to Adopt-a-Puppet

Here you can meet the puppet family of Norwich Puppet Theatre. They need your care to keep them happy. They need money to look after their home, they need ideas to keep them busy, they need love to make them lively and interesting. And they need friends to visit them. You can help to support them by adopting a puppet at Norwich Puppet Theatre. The photographs here are the puppets that are currently up for adoption so you can choose which one to adopt, or you can adopt one on behalf of a friend or relative. Several people can adopt the same puppet. Full details of the scheme are on a pdf you can download below. Click on each picture for a description, and on View All for more puppets. Puppet profiles can be downloaded here –

Once you have adopted a puppet, you can join the Adopt-a-Puppet club, then you will be able to access the other parts of this site. You will receive an invitation to join, and once you have signed up, you can send messages, add photos, record your visits to your puppet and blog your thoughts and ideas. It is your own puppet profile page. You can also communicate with other people that have adopted puppets. Download the form here and adopt one right away! There is also a poster that you can print out to encourage other people to adopt-a-puppet.

Norwich Puppet Theatre and the Puppet Centre Trust presents

Puppets and Words – unholy matrimony

Steve Tiplady has been in the thick of the puppet world for about twenty years as a performer, director, devisor, script editor and writer. He'd like to… Continue
